| Iberá (bright waters in Guarani) natural reserve is an unspoilt dream spot located in the center of Corrientes province. It boasts lakes, marshlands and dams making up one of the most attractive adventure and ecotourism areas worldwide. This extensive ecosystem is home to caymans, capybaras and deers, among many other species, several of which are protected since they are endangered species. The flora is breathtaking and absolutely diverse: irupés (Victoria cruciana), water hyacinths, duckweed and poppies live together with palm trees, willows, jacarandas and trumpet trees. The skies are lavishly inhabited by 400 bird species such as herons, storks and biguas (olivaceous cormorant), as well as flocks of multicolored butterflies. The rich water fauna is made up of over 111 species of fish. With an annual temperature of 20ºC / 68ºF, Iberá is an impressive paradise that lures any tourist because of its biodiversity. |
